I’ve lived in Ocala since I was five, growing up on a small farm with horses, dogs, chickens—you name it, I cared for it. That life taught me early how to give medications, treat infections, and most importantly, really understand animals and what they need to feel safe and thrive.
At 18, I started training green police K-9s while also volunteering at my local shelter. That’s when I found my passion for rescue—pulling dogs, working with them, and helping them find loving forever homes. Since then, I’ve rehomed countless dogs, with only three ever returned, all of whom were successfully placed again.
Over the years, I’ve also trained dogs in personal protection, basic obedience, and behavior modification, which has given me a deeper understanding of dogs as individuals—their instincts, personalities, and unique needs.
A big part of my drive comes from my sister, Selena Roth, who shared my love for animals and rescued many herself. Though she is no longer with us, her passion continues to inspire me, and carrying her mission forward is one of the ways I honor her memory.
The name Kahu is very meaningful to me. In Hawaiian, Kahu means guardian, protector, caretaker—and that’s exactly what I strive to be for every animal I care for. Whether it’s through rescue, training, or even something as simple as a nail trim, my goal is always to provide safety, comfort, and understanding.
That’s why I now offer mobile nail trims and baths—stress-free, convenient, and calm for both pups and their humans. I know it’s not always easy to get pets to the groomer or vet, so I bring the care to you, making it as smooth and comfortable as possible.
This isn’t just a job—it’s my calling. Rescue, training, and creating safe, stress-free experiences for animals has been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember, and I’m so grateful to share that with all of you.
